About the Journal

TRANS-KATA: Journal of Language, Literature, Culture and Education is a peer-reviewed international journal published by Transbahasa. The journal provides a scholarly forum for original research and academic discussion in the broad field of language and linguistics, with particular attention to the relationships between language, literature, culture, and education.

TRANS-KATA publishes original research that contributes to theoretical development, empirical understanding, methodological advancement, or interdisciplinary discussion in language-related studies. The journal particularly welcomes research that examines language in relation to education, literature, culture, society, communication, and human interaction.

The journal welcomes contributions in, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Applied Linguistics, including sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, forensic linguistics, neurolinguistics, discourse studies, pragmatics, and related areas;

  • Language Education, including first, second, and foreign language teaching and learning, language pedagogy, curriculum development, classroom practices, and language assessment;

  • Translation and Interpreting Studies, including translation and interpreting theory, practice, pedagogy, professional practice, and technology;

  • Multilingualism and Multiculturalism, including multilingual education, intercultural communication, language and identity, and linguistic and cultural diversity;

  • Language and Literature, including literary language, stylistics, discourse and literary analysis, literature and language education, and other linguistic approaches to literary studies;

  • Language and Culture, including language and cultural identity, language and cultural representation, intercultural communication, and the relationship between language and cultural practices; and

  • Interdisciplinary Language Studies, particularly research connecting language and linguistics with literature, culture, education, society, technology, and communication.

TRANS-KATA welcomes research conducted in local, national, regional, and international contexts. Submissions should demonstrate a clear connection to language or linguistics and make a substantive contribution to the relevant scholarly field.

The journal is committed to promoting rigorous peer-reviewed research and scholarly exchange among researchers, academics, educators, language professionals, and other members of the international scholarly community.
